One major drawback that I think Microsoft will have to address, is when to use which application. The main benefit of Microsoft Loop imo will be its tight integration with Azure AD/Microsoft 365, making it easy for users to invite others and for admins to have compliance and governance controls. Thus, you should expect it to be pretty good all around, but not to be the best at anything. It tries to compete with Notion in the multi-modal collaboration space, but they already have multiple different multi-modal collaboration offerings: SharePoint and Teams, and to some extent, OneNote.īecause it's offered for free/cheap, they don't have to excel.
